Over the last few weeks, we have received several questions and/or complaints regarding residents leaving their cars parked overnight on the street.
You might ask, “what’s the big deal”? Well, there are several reasons why we ask residents to refrain from doing this.
1.) It can create a safety issue. Emergency vehicles need unencumbered access to our homes without having to maneuver around vehicles.
2.) It is an inconvenience to your neighbors to have to go around cars parked on the street.
3.) While this may seem trivial to some, please understand … it can have a very negative impact on our neighborhood. One car leads to two, which leads to three, and before you know it, our neighborhood is littered with vehicles and our streets begin to look like Loring Lane. And, none of us want that.
We continually receive comments about how nice our community looks and if we all do our part, we can ensure it stays that way.
If you have overnight guests or out of town company who need to park on the street, just please ensure your hang tag is attached to their rear view mirror. Should a security issue come up, it’s very important cars can be easily identified as visitors in our neighborhood. Keep in mind, these hang tags are for short term parking only.
Please contact a board member if you are in need of a hangtag.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
