We need to bring everyone up to date on several new developments in our area.
First of all, you will be seeing a surge in police presence (Harris County Sheriffs) around our neighborhood and the surrounding subdivisions including Cypresswood, The Thicket, and Mirror Lake. As discussed at our annual home owner’s meeting, these neighborhoods are now paying for an increase in patrols.
As a result, you may want to pay particular attention to the posted speed limits and stop signs … specifically on Cypresswood Drive.
In addition to our Deed Restrictions regarding street parking, please be aware of the following Harris County Regulations, which just like moving violations, can be enforced and/or ticketed.
*** All vehicles on the street must be parked parallel to a curb (including cul de sacs), in the direction of the traffic, and with the right-hand side of the wheels no further than 18” from the curb.
*** You must be parked at least 30’ feet from a stop sign, 20′ from an intersection, and 15′ from a fire hydrant.
*** You cannot block or hinder anyone’s access to their driveway. (This includes both pulling in and/or backing out.)
Also, the office building behind us on Cypress Hill Drive is now owned by Harris County. It is our understanding it will house both a county tax office and Harris County Sheriff’s K-9 Units. The sheriff’s division has already moved in however the tax offices will not open for several months.
We will continue to keep you updated on any further developments.
